I just want to say how much I appreciate all of you for the love and care you gave to my mother Kathleen during her stay in Lovat House.

When the time came that I was unable to look after myself and had to ask for help I could not have found safer hands to pass my mother to. At last she is pain free and at peace. You will always be in my heart with my mum I shall never forget the love and care you gave my mother until the very end of her life. God bless you.

Out of all the care homes I’ve visited during my 10 years this is the care home with the most loyal and consistent staff, which is a credit to both Ian the owner and Fiona the manager.

Lovat House, Fiona the Manager and I enjoy a good rapport and communicate comfortably with one another. They have also consistently paid me on time over the 10 year which is a big plus working in any care home, and it makes me pleased to work alongside them and feel respected.

Mum and I would like to thank you and your wonderful team for making Mum’s 100thbirthday celebrations so memorable. Everyone was so kind and attentive to make Doris feel very special both on her “special” birthday and on her celebration day with her family and friends. It has now been three weeks since Dad died and we miss him so very much. Since he moved to Lovat House we were able to spend more time together which was lovely. He was very happy with being so close to us and for the care and kindness he received from you all. I cannot thank you enough for the attention he received. He loved having his tomatoes and beans this summer and being out in the garden. A simple pleasure provided by you that means so much to him. Our sincere thanks to you all.

       So grateful that we managed to find this home from home for our mum the whole team here are excellent spotlessly clean, excellent food & activities the whole team are very welcoming at any time of the day and all got involved in mums care encouraging her chatting to her including her. Mum sadly passed away in September 25 it was a true conciliation that mum spent her last years in such a warm and loving home x❤️

     Mum needed respite care 2 years ago and Lovat House was chosen.  It became obvious during that time that mum would not cope being back in her own home.  We looked at other care homes but felt that Lovat House was the most homely.  The staff were very caring with mum and encouraged her to join in with activities. The garden is lovely in the summer and the residents enjoy watching the birds even in the winter.  As a family we were always made to feel welcome.  We would have no hesitation in recommending Lovat House.

     My Nan at 92 years old found herself in need of a care home, she had lived in Wokingham her whole life so she wanted to stay local so that her friends could still visit. We looked at several different facilities and from the minute we walked through the door of Lovat House we knew that we had found her new home ….. that was 7 years ago, she has thrived since she has been there!! The atmosphere when you walk in the door is friendly and calming, family and friends are always made welcome, the staff are amazing, they are extremely professional and caring, they treat my Nan like she is their own mother or grandmother, nothing is too much bother (and she can be a little stubborn at times). She has her own private room that is beautifully decorated, she can take her meals in the dining room or in her own room whichever she prefers, she has her hair done every 2 weeks and they have fun weekly activities in the main lounge. She is encouraged to remain as active as possible and she will be 99 in February!! This is the best care home we could have ever hoped Nan would spend her remaining years, I would recommend to anyone looking for a place that really does treat you or your loved one as family - Thank you everyone at Lovat House, you are the best!

     As you will remember Mum was very worried about going into a home as she had had so many years of supported independence in her own home. When it became obvious that her mobility had deteriorated such that she needed extra help we agreed (after much searching) she should move into Lovat House and I was delighted that she settled in so quickly and is only sorry that she didn’t take this step sooner. She really likes the atmosphere, staff & company, enjoys the garden and activities very much and seems to have gained a new lease of life!  I can’t thank you all enough for making the transition so easy for her (and me!)
