There is no doubt, shared physical and mental activities promote both individual well-being and a sense of community. So, at Lovat House, you’ll find there’s always something to look forward to in the diary. We believe in making meaningful activity an essential part of care, so that residents can live each day in the way they want.
Lovat House plans activities and experiences based around residents’ interests and hobbies. Central to our approach is that every member of the home team looks to contribute to an environment of contentment and fulfilment for residents, even if it’s just being available for a chat over a cup of tea.
It is our strong belief that looking forward to an event or activity has a very positive effect on mood and outlook. For this reason we aim to have an enjoyable event planned and in the diary for our residents at all times and a varied range of activities to appeal to a range of preferences.
In visiting us you may find residents laying the table for lunch or out in the garden watering plants. The garden is treated as the residents own, with facilities for the residents to grow their own flowers or tomatoes. We believe that living in a care home is no barrier to doing the everyday tasks that provide a sense of purpose.
We plan a range of varied group activities that reflect residents’ interests, from quizzes, reminiscing, pamper days, exercise to music and special events on special days such as Annual Summer Event, Christmas Party event with Santa, Easter, Ascot, Grand National and other occasions. We also have entertainment such as regular musicians, keyboard sing song every month.
“I would just like to say thank you to you all for the kindness you showed me while I was with you. I am feeling much better now and intend it to stay that way. Thank you all very much. Wishing you all the best.”
“Thank you all so much for your kindness and care of Alice during the past few weeks. Also you support and guidance to the family over the final days were much appreciated. Bless you all.”
You all cared from the heart and not because it was your job. You were so kind to grandad and to me and my family too. I know grandad grew close to some of you and thought a lot of you. Thank you so very much for everything. With love.
