Long Term Residential Care

This is the mainstay of the service that Lovat House has offered for the last 20 years. During that time, our philosophy has always been to put equal emphasis on “care” “love” and “home”.

As professional carers our highly qualified staff are there to provide support whenever it is needed day or night. We never ask our residents to change their routines and requirements for us. We endeavour to always work to their routine and in a speed and manner that feels comfortable to them.

Providing care for the individual in this way is why you can be confident that Lovat House will come to feel like a true home to you and your family. As it should be in your own home, you set the rules. We don’t dictate schedules; a resident is free to get up and go to bed as they wish. Equally, they may receive guests at whatever time they prefer and are not restricted to specific visiting hours.

The residence itself is decorated like a home. The style is smart but comfortable. Whilst the home includes many mobility and support aids, care has been taken to ensure they have been fitted in a non-obvious design.

We understand this is a big decision and one that will mean a major change to you and your family’s life. Knowing this we, are here to help you throughout the transition and answer any questions you may have.

Respite / Recuperative Care

As the saying goes, “a change is as good as a rest.” And this is true at any life stage. When we get older there may be times when the need for a temporary increase in support could be necessary to ensure you continue to feel happy and comfortable in your home.

The option of short-term care is a valuable resource in an ongoing care plan. After a period in hospital, for example, our guests can stay with us whilst they recover. At Lovat House guests have the full support of our caring team until they feel ready to return home. Similarly, if your usual network of support is temporarily unavailable, perhaps due to family commitments or holidays, the option of respite care can provide peace of mind over that period. Or you may just be looking for a homely place to stay for a bit of extra care and company from time to time. Whatever the reason for your stay, our team is here to assist you.

Our short-term guests are welcomed into our home with the same compassion and support offered to our long-term residents. Each guest receives a tailored care and diet schedule on arrival to address their individual needs. All our residents, including those with us for only short visits, have the option to participate in our regular social events and activities.

We aim to operate Lovat House to provide an environment which has a friendly homely atmosphere, which recognises the individual and collective needs of the residents and provides appropriate support to each to allow them to live their lives to the full.
